My comments on tutoring Science : Some of our teachers are Certified to teach all subjects of EC-6th grade that includes Elementary science. I've been passionate about math and physics for as long as i can remember. In high school I was enrolled in every AP math and physics class I could get my hands on, including Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism, Multivariable Calculus, Vector Calculus, and Differential equations. I continued to pursue physics as an undergrad at UT and am currently a senior set to graduate in december with a bachelors in physics. My preferred method of teaching is hands-on, through real experiments. Unfortunately, experiments cannot always be done, so I use lots of illustrations and age-appropriate analogies that are easy to relate to. Many times students are convinced that science is a subject too difficult to conquer, that they must just survive it, but science is all around us. I strive for that "a-ha" moment when a student realizes that all biological and physiological processes are interrelated and that the trick to understanding science is to build on previously learned concepts. I believe that teaching solid fundamentals and relating more difficult topics to already learned information is key to helping students thoroughly understand the subject.

I also taught English as a Second Language to adults. I am an Adult reading tutor for adults who could not read. A Little Bit About Me...

I can adjust to most settings. Right now I have a client back home that I work with on a once a month basis. I was used to high school and middle school students but have been working with their children who are in elementary grade levels. As such, they have vaulted to the top of their classes in math.
I have been a tutor for the past five years.
