I particularly enjoy teaching grades K-5 because they are very eager to learn and explore music through movement, Orff instruments, singing, and dancing. As a graduate of the Boston Conservatory of Music, I was trained to be disciplined as a music educator and as a performer. My classroom internship began freshman year and continued until my senior year when I was required to student teach general music classes.I also maintained my vocal performance level by giving recitals and continuing vocal studies even until the present time. I greatly enjoy finding a way to inspire a child to understand the problem at hand. Through from my experience in grade school and my observation of students that attend tough schools I've realized the monotonous class schedule and disciplinary philosophy of most schools deflates most student's desire to succeed. While I can relate to this rebellious reaction I also know that it is no excuse for not trying very hard in school because the main path to success as a young adult is a high school diploma with excellent grades.
