With my students, I strive for not only mastery of the Russian and English languages, but also an understanding of Russian culture on the whole. I stress the importance of correct pronunciation and practice speaking and listening extensively. Though we do many written exercises, I find that language acquisition through conversation is key. Russian language is my native language. I consider that any intelligent educated person should know at least English, French and German to be able to read Dumas,Shakespeare, Heine in the original. Learning foreign languages was my hobby and became my second profession as patent searcher and analyzer in addition to my technical degree. As to teaching, it is my calling.
