As a Bradley University graduate, I graduated cum laude with a degree in chemistry from one of the best chemistry departments in the midwest. I tutored basic inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry I, II, and advanced organic throughout the course of my junior and senior years. I then went on to attend Union University to receive my Doctor of Pharmacy which is where I currently am. I have taken more chemistry along with advanced medical physiology. I tutored fellow students my first year of pharmacy school in medicinal chemistry, gross anatomy, and in advanced physiology I and II.
I am a visual learner and I have found that most other people are too. This means that it is important to understand concepts behind each topic were learning. I have discovered that every students is capable of achieving greatness if someone will take the time and effort to learn their learning style. I pride myself in being able to break things down to the most basic levels if necessary in order to reach a student. Often you have to know a child's personality, background, and home life in order to understand what he or she relates to. I don't believe in teaching a subject, I believe in teaching a student. I also do not believe in giving up. If the first method doesn't work then we will continue to try until something clicks and that child grasps the material and excels at it.
