More than a teacher student method, I would like to have an interactive mode of teaching. At the end of the session, the student should get a hold of basic concepts which will enable him or her to tackle any problems.
For my undergraduate studies in India, I chose Electronics and Communication as my specialisation. This decision was due to the Police Department recruiting me to teach various computer classes to police officers. I received a BS degree in chemistry and a minor in applied biology. My original thought was to attend medical school (I even took the MCAT), but decided to persue a PhD in inorganic chemistry instead. I have extensive experience in working with students. I would say that it is a little more toward laid back. Being over 6" tall, stocky, pushing hard, being an ogre, hard-nosed, that isn't going to work for me. People have a tendency to be a bit intimidated and fearful because of my size. I will use it to my advantage if it is necessary, or becomes necessary, but I've found being a little more quiet, reserved and coaxing the student to initiate the discussion is a little better. Ask leading questions, adjust and proceed, based on their response.

I have always been a tutor of sorts. I love to teach kids because of the sparkle they get in their eyes when they finally understand what they are being taught.
