As a non-traditional student I was more mature when I returned to finish my degree than when I had originally gone to school. As a result I graduated Suma Cum Laude and was awarded the Competitive Graduate Award from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville to begin my graduate education. There, I tutored two fourth grade ESL students, an Italian boy and a Korean girl, primarily in math and reading.
