ADD/ADHD Tutors & Teachers for Lessons, Instruction or Help in Fertile, MN

As an Elem. Education teacher...I've have grea opportunities to work in a variety of settings and work with many families and their children. My emphasis is in the lower grade, and Early Childhood---BUT enjoy grealy working with grade 4-6 as well. I have expensive patience when it comes to working with students who "need the extra help". I haven't had SPECIFIC tutoring experience but working with students one-on-one from a variety of grades have allowed great experiences. I do have a high interest in math...along with reading (because of my Title I credentials in the Math/Reading areas). I would love to have the opportunity to share my skills with students that need them!! I do believe that all children learn differently and my FIRST goal is to find out how that child learns best and go around the child's needs---not expecting the child to learn how I teach and limit that child. I have homeschooled my son, who has ADHD and doesn't take medication, from Kindergarted to 6th grade. He is now in school and is a virtually an A student. I can teach just about any subject, even subjects I do not have an education in, for example, the last two years, my son had a desire to learn Latin, so I taught him Latin as I learned it myself. I really enjoy awakening a child's passion for reading and writing. I enjoy teaching kids who are have different learning styles. I beleive that all students have a unique learning style, and that a good teacher can figure out how to reach a student. If a student does not understand a subject or concept, I employ different methods (visual, hands-on, abstract, manipulatives) etc. I am extremly patient, and don't believe that students are smart or dumb, I believe all students can learn equally well,if their strengths are tapped.

I have had a variety of work experiences in the past ranging from resident assistant, teacher, counselor, and multicultural tutor. These experiences have lead to the building of invaluable skills such as organization, prioritizing, adapting quickly to challenges and changing environments, and strong self-management skills.
