A Little Bit About Me...

I have enjoyed working with young people, and adults of all ages throughout the time I was tutoring/teaching. I have developed skills that allow me to break-down difficult subject matters into more coherent and comprehensible terms, which significantly aides in the understanding of the material, by my students. I take great pleasure in seeing the smiles on a student's face when they finally solve a problem they couldn't understand before, or comprehend what was previously a difficult subject.
After graduating with an Associate’s Degree in information technology, I was hired by the Ministry of Education, Grenada, to teach mathematics and information technology at a local high school, grades 8 through 12. After teaching at all grade levels, for two years at said high school, I resigned to pursue my bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, where I tutored athletes at the universit ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I have volunteered in middle school, high school and college ministry with River City Church in Jacksonville over the last four years. I spent a year in middle school and a year in high school ministry before I committed my time to college ministry. Teaching and connecting with middle school students is very different than with high school students, but no less beneficial. I graduated from the University of North Florida with my Bachelors in Fine Art in December 2010. Since then I have been substitute teaching with Kelly Educational Services in various schools in Duval County. Over the years I've taught bible studies, English, Art, Art History and Math.
I most enjoy working with middle and high school students. Usually, they are able to break down complex problems and think abstractly. When I work one on one with a student I am patient to understand where they are in relation to th ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

During my college years, I programmed in VBA, VB.Net, SQL, and ASP.NET creating applications in groups of 4 or 5 students. I have programmed professionally now for the past year programming in VB.NET, SQL, a slew of other web based languages(HTML, CSS, PHP, Javascript), and other miscellaneous languages (Lua, AutoHotkey). As for sharing knowledge I have quite a bit of experience from that as well. As a supervisor at the Stephen C. O'Connell center, we did all on the job training with all of our employees so I gained valuable experience in how to explain to people how to do things and what works best. In my job as a programmer, I would teach people how to use the software I created.
I like explaining things to people. I am patient and understanding and encouraging. I believe in having the student do it themselves after some instruction on how to do it, and providing feedback al ... read more
