I took a few classes on teaching at a small community college while I was still in high school. I still am considering becoming a teacher after going back to school to complete my major in accounting. I've always been a stronger believer in one-on-one teaching working more proficiently then being taught in a classroom. I am very patient and hard-working. I had an internship at an under-priviledged daycare for local children in Maryland and it was one of the most rewarding things I have ever accomplished. As a vocational expert/counselor I have taught, trained,and tested (interest, IQ, aptitude etc) both clients and employees. I worked with average intelligence adolescents and adults. I also assisted the special education teacher at Hanover Learning Center (approximately 7 years)working with mild and moderately impaired adolescents in the classroom. In the vocational and job placement responsibilities, I coordinated, and assisted/taught client to help them obtain their GED.
Naturally I would set goals and objectives (Independent Educational Plan). Depending if the individual's assets or deficits (weaknesses) would determine my teaching style.
