I do what I do ~ because I love who I work with!

I am the Site Coordinator for READING PALS at Paradise Elementary School. I've been working daily at Paradise Elementary for over 3 years as a Volunteer Reading Instructor. I also worked one summer for the Northern California Burn Foundation as a Counselor and Quartermaster at Camp. Working with severely burned children was one of the most rewarding times in my life.
Most of the teaching staff and 90% of the students know me as Mr.John. They know and respect me as someone who takes his time to mentor through friendship. Learning can be fun!

I am currently teaching English as a second language to post-secondary international students at California State University Sacramento. I have been an elementary school teacher for nearly 18 years. I taught for 7 years in Elk Creek and 10 years in Los Molinos where I currently teach 2nd and 3rd grade. I earned Glenn County Teacher of the Year in 1998 and Tehama County Teacher of the Year in 2007. I was also named Glenn County Teacher of the Week for Channel 7 News in 1999.
