A Little Bit About Me...

I tutored peers in different levels of math in high school, worked in a first grade classroom my junior year helping the teacher with spelling, reading and math. I volunteered in a preschool in all the ages of classrooms and helped with arts and crafts, letter practice with the older age groups and reading with all the ages. Also I helped my nephew with his kindergarten homework and my ADD/ADHD niece with her fifth grade math.

Learning can be fun!

My style is a learner centered one. I believe in guided learning, where the students make discoveries themselves while at the same time feeling supported and directed. I believe that everyone can learn, and discovering each student's style of learning while promoting confidence is very important to me.

My comments on tutoring Elementary Vocabulary : Vocabulary is my strong point, especially in teaching it as a second language.

I have been teaching all my life. Last year, I lived in Prague, Czech Republic, and taught English to students aged five through adult. They included children, accountants, analysts, engineers, energy experts, and lawyers. I've also taught swimming lessons to individual students and group classes for over ten years.
