Although, I have never been in charge of my own class room I consider my teaching style energetic. I am a graduate of Ohio University with a bachelor's degree in English. In addition to studying English I also studied fine arts (painting, drawing, art history) and Spanish. I have tutored students from ages 5-18 in all subjects including English (reading and grammar), math, social studies, and science. I believe the key to teaching is finding what each child is interested in and making that connection. Every child is unique and learns best in their own special way. Teachers have the ability to change the world and I feel extremely lucky to be a part of that.
Upon graduation from the University of Toledo, I have worked in two different school districts and in almost every grade level. In the Springfield district I was a teacher aid in both first and second grade where I assisted children with learning disabilities. I currently am working with the Bedford school district where I am a literacy coach and I teach students from K-6th grade to because better readers.
