A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that the most important part of teaching is to find a way to communicate a concept to the individual learner. This may include presenting the concept to the student using several different teaching styles in order to confirm that the learner understands the concept.
I have a BS in Microbiology from the University of Alabama which includes Inorganic Chemistry (one year), Organic Chemistry (one year), and Biochemistry (one year) plus associated labs. As far as teaching experience goes,...I taught my three children for a total of 6 years, covering grades K-5.

I love helping people achieve their goals. I try to find things that the kids enjoy and incorporate those things into my teaching style. A Little Bit About Me...

I understand the math and science are often difficult for students to comprehend. Many teenagers and young adults feel like they will never use this knowledge in "real life" applications. Thus, when teaching this subjects, I try to draw parallels to real life applications. Often students are surprised to learn that science and math is all around them. I feel that this teaching strategy helps the student understand the applications of science and math instead of simply memorizing the formulas, structures, etc.

As a University of Alabama graduate, I was very driven to achieve a high level of excellence in Biological sciences and math. I hold a degree in Environmental science, which enabled me to gain an understanding in many areas of math and science such as chemistry, biology, geology, and geography. In addition, I have learned extensive grammatical skills due to writing research papers and laboratory reports, along with essays in many various areas of study.

In addition, I was a Howard Hughes Medical Research Intern where I gained hands-on experience in a research laboratory that focused on Cardiovascular diseases. After graduating from college, I started my career in Education by teaching science courses at Green County High School. I love helping others learn about science.
