A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching and working with students of all ages. I particularly enjoy watching a student's eyes light up after catching on to something new. I know all students learn in different ways, but I believe most people learn best when they are relaxed and enjoying themselves. I also believe it is important, especially for math, tasks be completed multiple times for the ideas to really be remembered. I believe making students explain the material to someone else is an effective way to gauge understanding. Most importantly, I truly care about students as people.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have two children of my own and understand that all people learn in their own way. I have proven success with helping children find the way to learn that works best for them. Both of my kids are in the talented and gifted programs at school. I am patient but firm and do not like to waste time or money. I love to watch a person figure it out and see the confidence building smile when the ideas finally start to click. I am a professional scientist and certified teacher in Mathematics and Physics, holding a Missouri State CPC certificate in both areas (valid for 99 years). I have been teaching Regular and College Physics classes at the high school level. Currently, I am teaching Physical and Earth Sciences, Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry and Trigonometry. I am also able to teach calculus. I have been taking classes at UMKC to complete the Teacher Education Program.
