A Little Bit About Me...

I have spent thirty-five years in the field of education. During my college years I worked in the early childhood field and I worked as a private tutor as a means of supporting my education. Since that time I have worked in public schools, religious organizations, private educational facilities, and non-profit organizations partnering with public schools. The past thirteen years my work has primarily been in the early childhood and elementary field, providing educational services to young children and their families. Elementary aged children received tutoring and summer camp educational services through my work at this educational facility. Along with remedial assistance we provided services to special needs children.

I have always been interested in science and using that science to benefit humanity. In college I pursued a bachelor degree in Biology and was president of molecular/mircobiology club and was an anatomy, organic chemistry, and physics tutor. As an undergraduate I was able to be involved in forensic DNA research. After graduating I entered medical school where I have pursued research interests in pediatric infectious diseases, and middle ear dysfunction. In medical school I tutored students in pathology and pharmacology. My passions are teaching and patient care.
I have a teaching style that is very adaptive to any individual. I am very patient and understanding that multiple approachs to grasp a subject may need to happen. I try to base all knowledge around concepts instead of rogue memorizing. I prefer 1:1 tutoring but have experience lecturing to large audiences.

A Little Bit About Me...

I currently hold a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, and I will have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Early Childhood come May 2011. During my first degree, I tutored many kids at the Elementary level that was set up through the University. I absolutely enjoyed working with the younger kids. My practicum experiences have enabled me to develop a special rapport with the age group that I enjoy most: elementary and early childhood students. These teaching experiences have allowed me to work with a diverse group of students of all backgrounds allowing me the opportunity to observe a variety of teaching styles and to teach in schools with widely varying curricula and philosophies.
