I understand that everyone learns differently. I generally prefer a more hands on approach. I attended a Montessori middle school and found it most effective. However, the goal is find what works best for the student. I graduated 10th in a high school class of 900. I have a BA in Dance and am currently taking pre physical therapy course work. I teach and train dancers, both in class and one on one. I also teach yoga. When I teach I also am teaching the history of the form, vocabulary, and the anatomy behind it.

The core principle I hold to as an educator is that to be a great teacher I must also be a great student. A willingness to expand one’s knowledge and points of view by interaction with colleagues, students and the professional world which ones teaches about is the best way to insure that students respect you and the information that you give them. If students are taught by a malleable mind, then their minds, too, will be equally flexible. By understanding that all students possess multiple intelligences, and that those intelligences vary from student to student, teachers and tutors should guide instruction towards both the intelligences a student naturally possesses and those that need development.
