Elementary Math is one of my top subjects! I have worked with multi ability level students mostly in grades 4-6. I use many different approaches to help students gain the understanding of different topics. I believe every student can be successful in math.

I graduated in 2002 from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a bachelors degree in elementary education. After finishing school I got a building sub position at South Allegheny School District, where I was later hired as a full time teacher. This year is currently my 10th year teaching 5th grade and I have had tutoring students on a consistent basis over the years.

As a graduate student I taught an undergraduate engineering lab course for a semester, and spend 2-3 additional semesters grading tests and assignments for various undergraduate level courses in mechanical engineering. In addition, I also worked as a tutor during my senior year in high school, as well as at various times while an undergraduate student in college. Over the past year, I served as an Americorps volunteer in an inner city charter school with an emphasis on character education. I worked one on one with students helping them with math, reading, and science skills. I assisted in classroom teaching of mini lessons too. In 2001, I graduated from IUP with a degree in elementary education. I substitute taught around the South Hills of Pittsburgh for a year, then moved to Virginia, where I taught fifth grade for four years.
