Have taught a total of nine years in elementary and middle school while raising my three children. It was during this time I discovered two of my three children were diagnosed with special needs. This prompted me to return to school where I obtain my Master's certificate in teaching students with disabilities. As a recent college graduate, I feel I have achieved a level of experience that allows me to share my knowledge with others. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications Arts, which gives me the ability to master communicating with others and furthermore - teaching others. I have worked at an after school program and as a babysitter for a total of 5 years so I am experienced at tutoring. I worked as a choreographer for 5 years as well - which shows my teaching experience and dance experience.
I love teaching and watching children succeed. All children learn differently, which is why I alter my teaching techniques based on their learning methods. I figure out what suits them best and than use that method to teach them. In my opinion this achieves a high success rate.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a student who has dabbled in so many areas, it is easy for me to assess when a teacher/professor is not explaining a concept in a method that helps the students. I have previous experience tutoring, but my teaching talent comes from my role as the unofficial tutor for most of my classes. I can see why students are missing the concept and I am creative enough to devise new approaches.

I knew I wanted to teach five minutes into my first teaching job. In 2010, I graduated SUNY Old Westbury College earning certification in Special Education (1-6) and Childhood Education (1-6). As one of the older matriculating students in the class and a mother of two girls, I have seen how different methods of teaching worked with different children. Being a wife and mother, for sure, are meaningful life experiences; but as a dance teacher working with children, I am familiar with the discipline it takes to achieve specifically defined goals.
