A Little Bit About Me...

I recently graduated from Bard College, a selective liberal arts school in New York. I have taken classes in a variety of subjects including biology, french, history, and writing. I recently completed a 90 page thesis. I have excellent critical thinking and writing skills, which have served me well as a student. As a tutor, I strive to engage my students in thinking complexly about the topic at hand. I have experience tutoring middle school aged children in music, math, and writing. I also have experience working with preschool aged children.
I believe that learning through hands-on experience is the best way to fully comprehend material. I want to interest students in academics. To accomplish this, a teacher must show how math, or reading is useful; how anything can be exciting. I want to make learning fun. And I use a variety of tactics to accomplish this.

As a graduate of a sound Liberal Arts College, I've learned that the greatest asset I took away with me was the art of communication. I have earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with a focus in Creative Writing and Spanish. As a recent graduate of a private liberal arts institution with a degree in Medieval and Early Modern Studies and a concentration in pre-medical courses, I have a diverse and extensive understanding in several areas of study, both in the humanities and the sciences.
