I have worked with elementary, high school, and college-aged students, providing instruction in subjects ranging from English to biology. I am comfortable teaching a group, but I also have ample experience working one-on-one with students. I believe that course material should engage students. I do not believe that rote memorization is practical in most real-world situations, and I prefer to provide instruction in a manner that makes learning interesting and fun. I personally believe all children have the ability to be taught how to learn using a variety of methods from whole language to modified versions of other methods such as phonics for Reading instruction. Many children with different learning styles also have the need to use creativity as well as a wide-variety of various multi-sensory approaches.
