I began my 32 year teaching career in the field of music. I taught in the Visalia Unified School District in Visalia, California. I taught classroom music to children in grades 4-6. This was a job that required traveling from school to school encompassing 12 schools a week. During that time, I worked on completing a fifth year of college in order to obtain an elementary teaching credential from California State University, Fresno. Upon completion on my student teaching in a second grade classroom, I began a teaching position in Lindsay, California teaching 2nd grade for 4 years there. A Little Bit About Me...

Upon my graduation from UNC Chapel Hill, I worked various jobs; however, I could not find fulfillment in what I experienced. I decided upon moving to Charlotte in March 2006 to go into Secondary Teaching in English. I gained an excellent education at UNC Chapel Hill and UNC Charlotte. I have one year of public teaching experience and two years of tutoring experience.
I have been told often I am especially patient, which I believe is one of the most important qualities for a teacher to have. I know from experience that not all children learn in the same environment, so I would love work one-on-one with a student to help him or her to gain the experience that may be lacking.
