I have tutored in biology at St. Mary's University.I have 2 years overall of tutoring experience. My comments on tutoring Biology : I hold a Masters in Mathematics and a Bachelors in Molecular Biology. My teaching certification is EC-6 and just added ESL certified.

I am a certified teacher and have been teaching for 8 years in elementary school. I began my teaching career by accident leaving the law enforcement field to work initially part-time as a teacher. However I really enjoyed working with children and found that I was good at it. Over the years it has been nice to hear both parents, teachers, and children comment that I have made a difference in their lives and that I have helped make them the young people that they are shaping to be. Many children and parents have said that while I was tough I have helped them stay in school and become A students. This motivates me to continue to do my best in my job and for the kids.
I believe all children learn at there own style and pace and that we as teachers need to find what works for the child and help them build on their strengths in a positive way.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a professor at DeVry University I offered tutoring to my students on weekends for those who did not have a background in life sciences.As a part time professor at Everest College Medical Assisting Program I taught back office skills, physiology, medical ethics and medical termiology. The class memebers often required additional instruction outside of class which I was glad to offer during my office hours. As a part time professor at the Dallas. Texas Court Reporting Institute required I tailor the Physiology I and II classes toward legal testimony and verbiage that would enable future court reporters to understand what was being discussed as it related to court cases such as forensic terms.
