A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate of the University of Louisville I feel I have developed a knowledge base to further my career. I earned a BA in a subject that I greatly enjoy to study, History. Within the arts I was able to focus on humanities and cultural interaction. Along with these classes I took many general courses to broaden my focus beyond my degree. Most of my college career I was reading, researching, and writing papers that furthered my written communication skills. During the last three years I have worked in a leadership/teacher role to help people develop their knowledge base.
In school I took a class that taught us that everyone learns in a different way. Just like how everyone sees things from different perspectives. History has taught me various skills and understandings that other fields may lack. Not only do I have excellent writing and reading skills, I am apt at thinking analytically. Also, my research skills are strong, regardless of the subject. I have also spent three years studying German in order to grasp the language and understand a foreign culture better. The time I spent tutoring was with first graders through the America Reads program and my college. I helped them with basic math and reading skills, and had to adjust my tutoring for various learning styles and rates.
My teaching style depends entirely on the student. With patients and flexibility, a teacher can provide a student with the desire to learn on their own.
