My teaching style is traditional but creative; I believe in learning the basics first. Once the basics are mastered, then the student can move on to the more creative lessons. I also like variety in my lessons because I like to keep my students interested in what I am teaching. For instance, I like to offset grammar with skits which include the grammar that they have been practicing through oral and written exercises. If I were to sum my "style" of teaching up, it would be "patience with determination". Perhaps my best achievment is with my wife who recently graduated from A-B Tech. Kate has always had a block toward anything mathematic. She had one course between her and graduation, college algebra! The bottom line here is that I patiently stuck through this course treatment with her to a successful completion, she completed the course and graduated with a well earned "C" or a 78%. With patience and determination shared together with the student, impediments like a dread for math can be overcome.

Having taught high school in both affluent and underprivileged areas I strive to make sure that every student has a positive learning experience. My degree is a BS in Communication/Business with a minor in education. Language has always been my first love and I continue to take classes related to this field.
