Computer is one of my top subjects! I have worked with computers since Windows 2000.

I have worked many jobs and I want to dip my feet into to tutoring to see what it is like to help teach people about Computer Technology. I have been in management, computer IT, radio, roofing, janitor, and even fast food. I like to work in big groups and I feel like I have a good speaking voice along with a good attitude to my students. If a student has a problem I will guide them to help and let them understand what they are doing wrong.
I am hands on teaching and want the students to understand what each part feels like on a computer.

I have a BA in Creative Writing, which I have put to use not only in my writing but I am a proofreader to several other beginning author’s stories. They rely on me to fix their grammatical, spelling and usage errors so their writing flows more smoothly. In reading books I enjoy teaching others the overall theme, morals and observations that the author was trying to convey. I have developed my love for math and statistical formulas by applying what I learned in math classes to enjoy following sports teams stats better. I find that using numbers in several different areas promotes interest and learning.

A Little Bit About Me...

After 29 years of teaching, I retired from the Public School System in May 2010. During my career I taught first, fourth, and sixth grades in the regular classroom. I also taught Developmental Kindergarten. Before I retired, I was the sole Gifted Education K-8 teacher for my school district. I currently am employed in this same position on a part-time basis. As a teacher I have had much experience in after-school tutoring in various subjects at the elementary level. From a love of nature, I pursued a career in the life sciences, majoring in Biology as an undergraduate and exploring the plant sciences in graduate school. An interest in the organization of chromosomes led to work with a small soil nematode. I studied gene expression, energy metabolism, and immune responses in a long-lived stage of this little worm. My teaching experience began with students at the secondary level.
