A Little Bit About Me...

I have been a Math and SAT Math tutor since September of 2008. During that time I have had success with countless students of nearly all ages, from as young as 7 to as old as 18. I am 23 years old and just completed my Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics at Rowan University, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 3.96 GPA. At a major university, biology and engineering students, let alone chemist need to take general and organic chemistry. So it is required to tailor how I tutor to what they needed. In some case it was a guide through problems because they knew the basic information and could not correlate from one step to the next. When working with students, if there's an easier way, I will inform them. This is how I keep their interest and gain their respect. Example: When working with geometry and coming across rt triangles, the first thing I would do is to be sure the triangles are labeled correctly. I will then give the students 2 major trigonometric formulas: a^2+b^2=c^2, and a/sin a = b/sin ß = c/sin ? (or just c, because the sin of a rt angle is 1). Later I will inform them of different ways to write the formulas. Another set of words I will say is “Break it down.”
