A Little Bit About Me...

As I mentioned in the above paragraph, I meet the child where they are in their learning style. I can adapt to how they learn best and then use different activities and tools to again, "drive home" the concept of what the child may be struggling with. I love teaching anything!
When I graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree in 2002, I accepted a job at a small school in upstate NY that needed a PE teacher. I quickly learned to just relax and "go with the flow" of how the students learned the material and what kind of different activities that we could do to "drive home" the concept of what we were studying. I also learned to be very flexible. I wore many many different hats that first year of teaching which has given me to experience I needed in my recent years of teaching. I am passionate about sports, athletics, history and teaching as a whole!

A Little Bit About Me...

Working with kindergarden through Adulthood, I work with a student to help them get to where they can be their best. Additionally, it is always my mission to teach the student self confidence and basic study skills in order for them to compete with their classmates or to compete with others similarly situated. I work with students one on one or in a small classroom setting. I get the children actively involved in the learning process and I help them to learn how to conquer their study weaknesses.

In my experience with teaching, I find that the best way to connect and convey the information is to provide aural, visual and experiential exposure to the material. Everyone does not learn at the same pace or through the same exposure to material. It is also important to be perceptive to the possibility of student frustration as this is almost always a road block that will arise and if not identified can lead to lower absorption of the material or complete lack of understanding and drive altogether.

I am proud to say that I am a person who naturally enjoys a very good rapport with children. My work for various employers in the insurance and legal industry has been dependent on strong interpersonal skills, dealing with those on all levels of the social ladder. As my career advanced, countless times I was called upon to assist others in their training, and my job also required a daily aspect of education in explaining intricacies of systems to many. The most important qualities of outstanding educators are experience, creativity, and patience. Each quality needs to be developed or tested by time in order to increase in its overall effectiveness. Teachers who can consistently employ all three qualities throughout their careers will be successful educators. It will take a lot of effort and hard work as an educator to successfully integrate the qualities of experience, creativity, and patience into their teaching styles. The effort and hard work will result in the development and establishment of those important qualities within teachers. In turn, the qualities will help those outstanding teachers to continue working hard with unquestionable effort.
Through the course load of my college career my studies also incorporated normal life span development, personality development, abnormal development, prevention, group behavior, ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I would say that my teaching style is very interactive. Anyone can give instructions but I love feedback from a one on one situation as well as a group environment. I base alot of my instruction on analogies; when a person can relate an experience or another word to a term being tought, their understanding is broadened and 99% of the time embedded in the longterm memory. That to me is not only developing the ability to draw on a built up knowledge base, but also broadens ones ability to convey what has been learned.
I have always wanted to teach. When I was a child I would round up the kids in my neighborhood and make them do lessons that I created. I do remember they did not like that. I went to college and earned a BS in Biology always knowing that I would eventually teach the sciences. I was an excellent student and have always found pride in myself on my ability to communi ... read more

As a History graduate, I fascinated and intriqued with the how powerful lessons of American History can relate to students of all walks of life. At Delaware State University, I double majored in Animal/Poultry Science as well as History because of the natural science aspects of the curriculum. I am a seasoned researcher, writer, and speaker. Infact, I know 2 other languages; French and Spanish.
I love all sorts of positive ideals of teaching, especially when the teacher gives students the power to teach themselves by relating everyday experiences, such as sights and sounds with different lesson planners. I understand how the human works in a classroom, some students will grasp concepts because of their up bringing and the results of having a balance home. Others will sometimes wander off, mentally because of attention. There are other cases, but I believe every child needs a fair c ... read more

While attending Pensacola Christian College in 2007, I joined every kid's clubs as well as a Delinquency Center for teenagers’ ages fourteen through sixteen. Doing so, I’ve learned tactics key to dealing and helping young people no college could ever teach me. I currently am attending college. My freshman year I tested out of English 100 and 101, and tested into Advance English, EN 111. I learned exceptional grammar skills in EN 102 due to multiple types of essays, narratives, précis, and research papers. I have also developed lesson planning and organization skills. I have taken Speech as well as Public Speaking which I do on a regular basis. In my few years of college I have tutored and helped students in English, Reading, Spanish, Accounting, and History. I have counseled with many teenagers and have seen many make the right decisions in life that helped them in their education and ev ... read more

I don't just teach, I inspire and motivate. I try to help all of my students finish my classes with a high level of enthusiasm.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science in May 2005, from Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. I have excellent communications skills, and a very strong teaching /and/ Computer background. I have a remarkable ability to inspire and work with others. Many of my students are from different countries, and struggle with the English language. I presently teach Poker dealers. I do not let this hinder them, or me. I simply teach them enough English to increase their confidence to complete my class. In return, most will send their relatives to my class, because they found that I communicate well with others, no matter what their background.

As a college graduate, I value the importance of education. I've earned a bachelor degree- a Bs in Biology where I've gained knowledge of science and math. In addition, I also have a Teacher's Certification for Elementary Education in a Hebrew school setting from Midrashah Junior College. Over the past 12 years, I've tutored students in basic Hebrew, Bar and Bat Mitzvah practice, elementary, and middle school math and science.
I have a passion for helping children! Each child learns in a different way, and as teachers it is our job to meet the student where they are. I am patient, and helpful, while still pushing the student to do their best. My goal is to help students develop a love for learning.
