I like to start the initial session by evaluation my student's strengths and areas needing improvement. I like to offer editing assistance and answer questions in every session. I like to make the tutoring sessions to be as relaxed and comfortable as possible. It is a learning environment, not a lecture classroom.

The method of teaching I prefer is maieutic, i.e., one which draws knowledge from the student, rather than attempts to place it in him/her from without. To me, the process of asking questions and allowing the student's curiosity and intelligence to reach conclusions is far more effective than one-sided lecturing. I am endlessly creative, coming up with myriad examples to illustrate concepts.
In 2006 I taught graphic design topics at Westwood College. In 2007 I taught the same subject at The Creative Circus (roughly equivalent to an MBA program for designers, writers, photographers, and art directors). I have worked as a math and physics tutor for several years at the high school and undergraduate university levels. My past experience has been primarily in introductory physics courses and upper-level high school math including trigonometry and calculus, but I am excited at the possibility of tutoring at any level. I was a President's Scholar at Georgia Tech from 2004 through 2008, and I recently completed master's degrees in physics and medical physics at the University of Pennsylvania.
