My comments on tutoring GRE : I received a perfect score of 6 in the writing section of the GRE. If you are applying to any type of communications or literary graduate school, I would be of great assistance to help you prepare.

I like to start the initial session by evaluation my student's strengths and areas needing improvement. I like to offer editing assistance and answer questions in every session. I like to make the tutoring sessions to be as relaxed and comfortable as possible. It is a learning environment, not a lecture classroom.
Hello! Thank you for your time. In the summer of 2002, I tutored children from ages 6-12 years at an educational camp. I usually tutor young adults, focusing on conversational English, as well as grammar and writing. In addition, I am an editor/consultant for many professionals in writing composition, speeches and presentations, and editing documents. Although my experience is mostly with older students, I absolutely love children and get along with students of all ages. I have a very creative approach to teaching English, coming up with fun and visual methods of u ... read more

The method of teaching I prefer is maieutic, i.e., one which draws knowledge from the student, rather than attempts to place it in him/her from without. To me, the process of asking questions and allowing the student's curiosity and intelligence to reach conclusions is far more effective than one-sided lecturing. I am endlessly creative, coming up with myriad examples to illustrate concepts.
In 2006 I taught graphic design topics at Westwood College. In 2007 I taught the same subject at The Creative Circus (roughly equivalent to an MBA program for designers, writers, photographers, and art directors). In 2008 I taught in the design department for Georgia State University. This summer I traveled to a remote region in India to teach English. I have taught GRE prep for the past 3 years, covering the verbal, quantitative (math), and analytical writing (essay) areas. As a test pre ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked as a math and physics tutor for several years at the high school and undergraduate university levels. My past experience has been primarily in introductory physics courses and upper-level high school math including trigonometry and calculus, but I am excited at the possibility of tutoring at any level. I was a President's Scholar at Georgia Tech from 2004 through 2008, and I recently completed master's degrees in physics and medical physics at the University of Pennsylvania. I am looking for summer tutoring positions before I begin a doctoral program at the University of Chicago this fall. All levels of instruction are welcome!
I believe every student has the ability to learn any subject matter, however difficult it may seem. Effective instruction is strongly linked to effective communication of material, in a way that each student can understand personally. I strongl ... read more

In my past experience as a Teacher, I have been required to follow a strict curriculum and adhere to a specific learning plan. My style of teaching incorporates the cognitive and the interactive so students can experience their lessons as an adventure rather than a mandatory requirement.
