I am a 2012 graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Chemistry and concentration in Biochemistry. I have worked as a TA for the sophomore Principles of Biology (II) course as well as the Organic Chemistry Laboratory Course. My personal style varies on the pupil. These may vary from simply being frustrated with the curriculum to a myriad of influences. My style is considered out of the box, meaning that if the standard method does not "click" with him/her, then I enjoy finding something of interest to them, to relate that to the subject at hand. A Little Bit About Me...

To make my teaching more effective, I usually psyche my student to see how the mood to learn is. Should the mood be down at first, I would just come up with something fun, educative, something that can help to boost someone's IQ score. I have also used the NCLB Method, No Child Left Behind Method. In it, we use examples for every question, and evaluate the students every week to enhance greater learning.
I have always been a tutor of almost every class I took in high school, college, and even graduate school. I was always acting as a teacher figure to my friends, and my peers. A Little Bit About Me...

I always find myself trying to lead others to figure out material on their own as a I set guidelines for them as they do so. I believe this is the best way for them to learn the material. I do not like to tell my students the answers, inhibiting them from thinking things through. I try to find different ways of teaching material in order to keep them motivated, as well.

The method of teaching I prefer is maieutic, i.e., one which draws knowledge from the student, rather than attempts to place it in him/her from without. To me, the process of asking questions and allowing the student's curiosity and intelligence to reach conclusions is far more effective than one-sided lecturing. I am endlessly creative, coming up with myriad examples to illustrate concepts.
