My undergraduate degree from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan was a major in Home Economics Education and a minor in Spanish. Ten years later I completed my Master of Arts in Teaching in Elementary Education at the same University. I have a total of ten years experience on the elementary, junior high and high school levels. My experience was mostly in private church schools teaching from single grades, all subjects, to multi-grades, all subjects. During my college career, I tutored for two years. I tutored first and second year undergraduates, consistently dealing with issues concerning reading comprehension, paper construction, grammar, and developmental thinking. I have also been teaching the last year (9th grade English) at a private school. My education (BA in English) successfully prepared me to teach the basics of English, i.e. grammar, sentence construction, identifying parts of speech, etc, as well as the less concrete ideas, such as theories, literary trends, intense analysis, and the like.
