Growing up in a house where excellence was not only required, it was considered the most important item, and I was expected to deliver. This demand to consistently produce the best results, gave me a drive to take on big challenges and make sure I succeeded. I use Google extensively to look for similar examples to the problems the student might be having. I believe that it is best to solve any given problem in at least two different ways if you really want to get some insight. It also helps in either verifying your answer or checking if you are in the ballpark.
