I believe visual learning is key to a successful student, so i usually draw out or show videos and explain step by step what they just saw. What student do not understand if i can (usually i can :)).

Should the mood be down at first, I would just come up with something fun, educative, something that can help to boost someone's IQ score. Currently I am a organic chemistry lecturer at a local college but I have always been an advocate of education. I have a PhD in organic chemistry and a BS in chemistry. This becomes increasingly important as the age of the student decreases.
