A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught private music lessons since 2006. My primary instrument is piano. I have tutored English, Math and Science for the last 3 years. My students have achieved fantastic results. Basic Learning Skills is one of my top subjects! My degree is in Elementary Education. I was also a pre-school teacher for approximately 2 years, so I am familiar with pre-writing skills to the elementary level. Many students are slow and labored readers, due to the fact that they do not "hear" and process sounds or phonics as well as others. I recently learned that dyslexia has many of the same characteristics as those seen in students who are hard-of-hearing, so I attended a workshop to learn the Wilson method of teaching students who are dyslexic. Teaching in both areas requires seeing reading in a different way.
