I am a native speaker and have been tutoring for 12 years (from 2000 untill present). Also have two semester of teaching Italian at college level. I taught the elementary and intermediate level. This experience improved a lot my teaching skills and my ability to communicate effectively with students. In fact I am still in contact with most of them to help. Being a native speaker is very important in thus job since student can actually learn the correct pronunciation of words, idiomatic expression and how to understand and speak Italian in a productive way.

Italian is one of my top subjects! native and italian citizen

Hello to everyone, I'm Giulio and I'd be glad to help people in the process of studying this wonderful language, which is italian. I lived one year in the US, attending the Senior year in high school, so my english abilities are "in good shape". I've had some experience in tutoring mostly children learning english during summer camps here in Italy, and some foreigns student or tourists here in Italy. My italian is excellent (both oral and written). So, just give it a try! Skype would be great, but if you find any other way to facilitate the lessons, just let me know about it. Hope to hear from you. Ciao, a presto (later)

My comments on tutoring Italian : I am a first generation Italian-American on my mother's side. Most of her family is in Italy, and we have always maintained a close connection. As such, I have been to Italy many times, not only on the tourist path, but off that beaten path: in my relatives' dining rooms, at their weddings and funerals, working in their fields harvesting grapes, etc. In college, I majored in Italian, even spending a semester in Rome. I tailor my teaching style to the student's needs. I can teach in the conventional, textbook format. I can teach in a less formal manner, I can prepare someone heading to Italy who needs a crash course in "street" Italian, and prepare one's expectations. I like it to be an interactive process, with a lot of verbal repetition on the student's part.

Italian Tutor - Native speaker

I am a native Italian speaker, and for this reason I think that I am aware of every part of the language. I love helping students, and I want them to accomplish their goals. - Currently working in my College's tutoring center, which is allowing me to have a lot of experience in tutoring students academically. - 1 year experience tutoring friends and family for many purposes.
I work with students to find out which learning style is best for the individual. Some students learn easier with visual aids while some can pick up a lesson better with the hands on experience style and yet a third group will excel with auditory instruction. If at all possible all three styles should be implemented into the same lesson to give each type of learner the same advantage.

Italian tutor for all!

I have tutored many different kids and a few adults in english and italian, always with great success. i have also worked as a nanny and babysitter, which has trained me to be a very patient teacher and quickly understand students different ways of learning and comprehension. i enjoy helping others become more confident with a new language!
every student is different; as far as languages are concerned i believe people benefit more from actually speaking and listening, instead of learning a whole bunch of grammatical rules. those will come in time and a lot more naturally once you are confident with the words and their meaning.

With a working portfolio of seven students and eight years’ experience, I have mastered the art of time-effective, cost-effective language learning for students of all abilities, ages 14-24. My intimate network of educands forced me to think creatively and plan strategically for each student’s goals – passing a test, augmenting general working knowledge of a subject, constant tutoring and assistance, and so on. I have worked with students who have severe behavioral disorders, those who are learning handicapped, others who were extremely advanced for their age, and some others who were simply average. Conducting engaging lessons is the key of my work – especially at this particolar age ... read more

My comments on tutoring Italian : Native speaker

I hold a Ph.D. in mathematics and a master in physics. I have been Assistant Professor at Columbia for the past four years. I have taught calculus 1 through 4 and Analysis 1/2 many times. My main area of expertise is Algebraic Geometry but I also have some experience in functional analysis and quantum mechanics.
I try to teach my students how to derive advanced formulas and results from basic ideas, instead of relying on rote memorization. According to my experience, students who memorize math results without understanding, do not actually retain information; the kind of learning that I offer is much more permanent.
