NCLEX: Great teacher experience with strong clinical skills

I have been in health setting for more than 35 years already as I am a Physician in Mexico, so clinical (as Family physician and hospital) experience and necessary to pass the NCLEX at first attempt in the US is strong. My experience as a nurse in the US since 2008 has left me strong knowledge about nursing processes, rules, regulations, quality on documentation and I have been a Home Health nurse, clinical on the field and as of manager of nursing. I have been studying education since my high school graduation in hopes of one day being the choir director at my high school.At the moment I am a student at UTEP studying bilingual elementary education and plan to receive a masters in music education after receiving my bachelors degree. I am currently a subsitute teacher and am hoping to continue helping students with their studies in the summer and weekends. I have a social work background which, in my work has always been integrated with some component of teaching, both in and out of the classroom. In the early sessions I ask my students a lot of questions to figure out their goals, problems, current knowledge and learning style. Based on what I find I build a teaching strategy. I then help them find appropriate materials if they don't already own some. I try a few methods to find the one that works best. If I'm teaching a language I like to combine grammar, vocabulary building exercises, as well as speaking and listening. I give them small quizzes to measure their progress. I help them find fun level-appropriate reading and listening materials. I give them sources online and information on what types of dictionaries are useful. No two people are alike, so my teaching style is to find out what a person's style of understanding is, and to frame my teaching around that.
