A Little Bit About Me...

I recently graduated cum laude from the University of Rhode Island with two Bachelors of Science in Marine Geology and Maritime Law. I teach sailing and environmental education in the summers. My oldest is a national merit scholar finalist, and my youngest son is captain of his high school math team. Math is fun, like a puzzle-once the student sees this fact, they begin having more fun and less fear of the subject.
I am a patient teacher, and I use many different ways of communication. I try to find the style of learning best suited to my pupil. Removing the fear of the subject seems to be the most important part. Throughout high school and college I showed proficiency for mathematics as well as an ability to help teach those around me. After college I became a pension analyst and have studied for several actuarial exams. In my current position one of my responsibilities is to educate new hires or colleges on systems and processes.
