A Little Bit About Me...

I offer a tailored approach to each student, establishing the particular areas of strength and weakness. I aim to establish or reestablish interest in math and also to teach exam techniques. My tutoring is to focus and prior knowledge and to reinforce new information to the student. Mainly I want each student to know the concept of math not to just memorize formulas which they tend to forget. I focus in making a connection and in understanding the concept.
I have a degree in mathematics from UC Santa Cruz. I am familiar I have also taught elementary school mathematics at traditional high school and at a Charter High School in the Central Valley and in San Jose Ca. I have known that teaching is my calling since I was a Freshman in high school. Learning how everything works has always facinated me and sharing that has been equally rewarding. I believe that learning can be fun when it is relevant and interactive. Students have to be given a vested interest in the learning process, asked questions. An environment of trust in which student's inquiry is encouraged is the best way of learning. Moreover, I thing that teachers have to use complementing mediums for teaching (ie.
