The best successes come after their greatest disappointments

I have experience with pre k to 8th grade tutoring in Math and English tutoring to help students prepare for Iolani and Punahou entrance exams through Dr. Takahashi Juku. I have also worked extensively with children from Japan who struggle with English. I can explain English words and grammar in Japanese and well as read and write Japanese .
I like to make my tutoring sessions productive by encouraging students to work hard to complete the taste in order to receive a reward in the form of a game or something they enjoy doing. I am very thorough in correcting assignments and make sure they fully understand the concept they are working on. I am very helpful in stimulating critical thinking for creative writing assignments.

Expereinced SAT / ACT/ GRE tutor with perfect scores

My tutoring experience has mainly focused on SAT / ACT prep and ESL (TOEFL). I have also been a high school / middle school teacher in social studies / history / humanities for the past 4 years. I'm now working on my Masters at UH-Manoa. My own SAT score is a perfect 2400 (800 for Critical / 800 Math / 800 Writing , which I am happy to show you proof of), but even more important is the fact that I know how to teach the material to students at ALL levels (those trying to break 1500 to those trying to break 2200 for the SAT). I've tutored SAT for a very large international test prep company as well as on my own and I have students who have had remarkable success in improving their scores.
Flexible - it depends on the student's needs and preference. One size fits all teaching is poor teaching.
