A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated Magna Cum Laude for Political Science, earned my certification in International Relations and minored in Classics. I headed multiple study groups for my peers upon their request and I have a great ability to explain very complex theory in very easy to understand terms. I know how to word something multiple ways so that if you are not understanding it one way I can easily try something different. I do not over complicate anything. I try to simplify as much as possible then build from there.

My comments on tutoring Government : Experienced to teach Middle School, High School

First off I approach learning with a degree of understanding for the student, I have found not all students learn at the same pace and have the same strengths and weakness. I like to build the strengths and bring up the weakness. A student must want to learn and to take ownership with his or her educational career no matter what the degree is in. I like to think, I can bring to table the confidence the student needs to make a difference in the way they learn. Thus at the end of our tutoring sessions these skills learned can carry over to other subjects the students pursuance of a higher education.
Currently I have a BA in History/Education from St. Leo University and a Masters in Educational Technology (Online Learning) from American Intercontinental University; my specialty lies in American, European and World History as well as how to use and manage online distance learning. I would like to pass on my dedication to learning and the understanding of cultural patterns to students and following them from their first encounters with social and cultural trends through the essays they ultimately produce as they learn how to think critically about these trends. I would bring to this work both preparation and experience, not only in my own skills as a writer and researcher but also in the teaching of subjects concerning social culture. Having begun my teaching career in the University of Colorado at Boulder, I am interested in continuing my work in the educational world, as I enjoy working with and teaching students because of the rewards I’ve found there.
I am interested in pursuing an academic career as a teacher and am eager to continue this path. I am able to teach many levels and pride myself on encouraging students to open up their own critical think ... read more

When I can help other students understand a concept that was once very confusing for them, I feel very satisfied. I am very flexible in my teaching methods. Primarily, I like to understand the learning styles of my student so I know what will best work for them. I will do whatever it takes to make sure the student understands the concept and succeeds. I also like to encourage students by implementing different incentive programs; this will motivate them to continue working hard. I am extremely confident that I will be able to teach my students successfully in a fun and engaging manner.
