Speaking is one of my top subjects! I have completed public speaking at the University of Florida with an A. I was the president and founder of a Toastmasters branch in South Florida. Toastmasters is a global organization that has weekly meetings to help people become better public speakers. I have given many presentations in many classes at UF and have always received compliments on my speaking. I am working my way to become a motivational speaker one day. Because I work with students from such varied backgrounds, I believe that the best method is one that allows for flexibility and at the same time incorporates lessons from several fields at once. For example, in both my GED and ESOL courses I incorporate music into my lesson plans. I find that music is an excellent avenue to explore contemporary topics that can then lead to essay topics.
