Tutoring differs from teaching in that "style" is replaced by method. Some of the methods I have used in the past are rhythm and music, neumonic devices, and of course, drill and practice. I have been told that I am gifted with presenting material in novel ways.
As mentioned in my earlier description, I have eighteen years experience as an educator. I have taught students of all ages from early childhood through college and non-traditional adult education. My first tutoring experience was in my freshman year of college. I tutored basic college algebra and calculus. Having earned two bachelor degrees in both math and physics. I feel I have a good understanding of not only the theory but also the applications of math to science. Tutoring both privately and publicly has also increased my speaking and presentation abilities. I have also tutored test taking strategies for the SAT, ACT, and GRE. In my years tutoring I have tutored middle school through graduate level courses. I am a recent graduate, I graduated in 3 years and will be going back to finish my engineering degree. I have a BS in Electronics Technology which required me to take Cal I,II,II, Applied Statics and Technical Math. I also have experience with Solid Works, C++, Computer Repair/Installation and Electronics. After school I've been tutoring other college students in Math and repairing computers in my spare time.
I just started tutoring but find that I enjoy helping people with Math and helping them understand the concepts. I'm easy to get along with and laid back. I like to let the student start the problem and see where they need help.
