Students need inspiration!.

I love discovering each individual student and the way to help them learn. My goal is to help students become inspired by their subject matter so that it can play a role in their lives as well as their test scores.
I have led several small groups of teenagers and young adults in Biblical studies at Prairie Hill Evangelical Free Church, several musical groups in practicing and performing, and a summer-long book club at Crown College. In gaining my Associate of Arts degree from Crown College, I also led many study groups on subjects ranging from Chemistry to Physics, English Literature to Creative Writing.

I have a substitute teaching license from the state of Colorado. I have been subbing for Denver Public Schools and Cherry Creek School District for over three years. I have worked with ages ranging from Kindergarten to 8th grade.
I enjoy working with students and have a high level of patience with each grade level. I am usually pretty laid-back and allow students leeway to have a bit of fun while they learn. After earning my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder, I determined that I wanted to pursue a teaching career. I enrolled in the Master’s in Elementary Education program at the University of Phoenix. My work in elementary schools has been as a paraeducator, both as an instructional para with general classroom duties and as an intensive special needs para. This experience has allowed me to work with students with Autism, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, and various other disabilities. I am currently student teaching in kindergarten, and will be graduating and moving to Colorado Springs at the end of May. I believe that everything is interconnected, much like a spider web, and that if you can connect information to what interests a person, than learning can become easy, and fun, and more importantly, less stressful and more meaningful. When information is difficult to understand, it is not the fault of the student, in my opinion; it is, if any fault at all, the fault of the teacher who is not presenting it properly.
