In 2001 I graduated from Coastal Carolina University with two bachelor degrees, BS in Marine Science and BS in Environmental Science. Both of these degrees required extensive studies in both math and science. While in college I tutored fellow students in science, math and English. I also was a teacher/tutor for two home schooled students in the 2005-2006 school year.

After falling into a tutoring situation in 2007 with a High School AP Biology student, I decided that tutoring may be the right thing for me. I was hired the next year by Advanced Learning Center and tutored K-5 Reading and Math for a total of 11 students. Then, if the student understands and feels comforatable performing the task, I'll let them try it with me, being there to help out as needed. I was an in class tutor for kindergarden, 3rd and 5th grades. I also taught at Apopka Middle and drop out prevention at Apopka High School. I facilitated a boys group every Tuesday night and a youth group every Wednesday night. I did summer camps and tutoring after school as well.
My teaching style is that we do not move on until you (the student) "get it". If that is an hour or two, that's fine, or a week or two, that is fine as well. I need the student to know the material in order to move on.
