I am an Elementary Education teach in HEB ISD. My total number of years teaching is 12. I have taught and tutored 3rd - 6th grade math, science & language arts. I currently teach 4th grade math and science. I also privately tutored reading comprehension for 3rd - 5th graders. The last four students that I tutored progressed on their state test from failing to well over 80% passing rate. I believe every child can learn if they are inspired and believes that he or she is capable of achieving. I use the CHAMPPS program & Love & Logic method.

Learning to understand what you read is the foundation of critical thinking. Learn to read for understanding, including how to read in between the lines! I try to do some explication, and then have the student try some exercises or venture out on their own. In the cases of multiple sessions, I DO assign homefun (as opposed to homework), so that the student will have some experience when next we meet. I am an experienced graphic and web designer. But in college I thought I was going to be either an English or History Professor, or an Attorney. That's why I studied lots of his History, English, and took the pre-law major Philosophy.
