I was a teaching assistant at North Georgia College and State University for three years. I assisted with laboratory sections of biology courses and taught them in the event of a professors absence. A Little Bit About Me...

I worked for the mathematics departments at my high school and university as an aid and as a tutor. As a result, I tutored many students in a variety of mathematics courses. A Little Bit About Me...

This is my 5th year teaching high school Chemistry and Introduction to Physics to grades 9th-12th. Most of the students I teach are in the 9th grade. I have been at the same school for my entire small teaching career. I absolutely love educating and get the most satisfaction when I see students light bulbs come on!
I beleive students learn the best by having their ending in mind first. I like for my students to understand the purposefulness of work and how it will help them reach their goal. I also believe that differentiating instruction is a must; children need their learning style catered to for the most effective learning results!

I do have a preferred teaching style, but I will accommodate the student’s preferences. My preferred teaching style is to guide students, not lecture or do their homework for them. Your ability to learn material will be greatly increased by exposure to critical decision making steps as you work problems. I will guide students to these steps as efficiently as possible and wait for a rigorous effort from the student. This will result in either a correct approach or an inappropriate or incorrect approach. After that point I then congratulate the student for a correct answer, or thank them for their effort and try to break down the decision making process so that they can learn from the experience and gain a real understanding of the problem.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have earned a bachelors degree in Chemistry from East Tennessee State University. I have more than 100 hours of volunteer experience in all fields of area due to being in organizations like Alpha Phi Omega, Phi Sigma Pi and President's Pride throughout my college career. I believe I'm qualified to teach computers because I use it everyday and know basically most of all the Microsoft Office. English/LA and Social Studies probably not as qualified but I know the basics, if I did not I would not have a Bachelor's degree right now.

As a Georgia Tech graduate, I've always enjoyed challenging myself to learn new things and to take different approaches. I am currently working on a Masters degree in Business Administration while working full-time as a Mechanical Engineer at a local Chattanooga company. While in college, I was a teaching assistant for the Thermal-Fluid Science class. More recently at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, I have taught the Physics I lab.

I have a bachelors degree in chemistry and took graduate level biochemistry classes for three years. I have taught general chemistry both as an undergraduate and a graduate student. I have two years of teaching experience, including teaching middle school sceinece, high school biology, chemistry and physics at a private school.
