My comments on tutoring Grammar : I have taught Kindergarten, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, and 5th Grade. I am certified K-6th grade. I also taught advanced and Intermediate math and language arts in a GED/HiSet program. I currently teach ESOL/CIVICS for an Adult School.

Grammar is one of my top subjects!

I have 10 years experience teaching ESL in various settings. Primarily my experience has been in K-12 public schools. However, I have experience in teaching adults and in tutoring adults, as well. My students have varied to professionals seeking to improve English to newly arrived immigrants needing to learn an entire new language. I have had experience with a vast number of ethnicities and languages as well as varied education levels.
My teaching style is a mix of both teacher and student centered. There are times where it is important to give students the information they need as well as examples. My comments on tutoring Grammar : Improper grammar is a pet peeve of mine.

I have tutored my friend's daughter in math and English. I have assisted her with science and social studies projects. Her ADHD can inhibit the learning process, but we are able to work through the problems. Learning about weighted blankets helped me work with her. She is a kinetic learner. my nieces are both visual learners. I have to adapt to each learning style.
Teaching brings me pleasure. What I do is to show them, help them, then have them do whatever I am teaching them to do. Sometimes one of the steps may have to be repeated, but this process really works well.
