A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in the value of one-on-one tutoring, and I actively listen to the student’s questions and responses to uncover any barriers to the understanding of a problem. I depend upon regular review at the beginning of each session to both assess the student’s progress and grade my own effectiveness as a tutor and mentor. I also employ real-life examples to aid in understanding as I have found that most young people learn and retain far more when practical applications are used to reinforce theory and practice. Finally, in addition to improving grades and preparing for the next level of education, my goal is to equip the student with tools for continued success.

I first started helping students with chemistry as an undergrad in college. For my first year of graduate school, I taught general chemistry recitation classes and labs for one year. I am very proficient in writing research papers, laboratory reports and giving presentations.
