I have a love of learning and especially learning about people. This love lead me to earn a bachelors degree in Psychology and a masters degree in Sociology, which has enabled me to gain an understanding of students' persepectives. Although I have extensive experience in grammatical skills through writing research papers and essays, my skills in reading comprehension are my strength. I work with assessments both summative and formative on a daily basis. I find it important to ensure that the student understands one concept before moving on to mastering a second concept. I have always enjoyed assisting our youth work through various academic endeavors. I have been tutoring grades k-12 for several years now. I have helped all ages with a wide variety of assignments. My teaching style varies based on the age of the student. I like to be a little more animated with my k-6 graders. On the other hand, with my 7-12 graders I focus more so on making a connection with the material--showing them how it relates to them.
