I teaching and working with student of all ages. I believe that those that I have tutoredin the past and present learn best though hands on learning. The process by which demonstration problems are correctly worked out and then assists them in completing the problems at hand.
I have always loved numbers and they are my passion. As a student at FMCC I was able to pursue my goal and assist others along the way. I was taught to teach by "Socratic Method" which is possibly the best way to teach/tutor. I ask many questions to check the students responsiveness and understanding of key areas of the topics including a reinforcing of the ideas being learned. I cannot count how many students I have had come in frustrated and confused and then quickly answer questions that were simple and built up to understanding harder ideas by the end of a session. And the best award of all is seeing joy and elation that they have a good chance of getting a high grade after learning material. I received a technology degree in 1975. Several years later I returned to college to persue a Physics/Mechanical Engineering Degree from SUNY New Paltz and RPI.
