I have tutored in the past with my friends and have been told that I am very effective. I feel that I would make a great tutor because I enjoy teaching other what I know. I have also filled in for my teacher while she was away to teach classes such as statics and dynamics at the undergrad level. The students seemed to have enjoyed my way of teaching. I have also assisted in teaching the reinforced concrete design also at the undergrad level. I feel I could be a good tutor for subjects like math, physics, and engineering classes at both high school and undergrad level.

I graduated from San Diego State University in 2011 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering, after switching from Aerospace Engineering, and 2 minors in Physical World Geography and World History. I love to teach high school students and adults that might be struggling. I know they have the ability to learn but each in a unique way. I am hands-on, patient, kind, laid back and even a little unconventional. My goal is to reach into the students strengths and help them bolster their weaknesses through discovery. I have recently started in the field of tutoring. I believe it is important that the student understands the theory part of a topic, but more importantly to do practice examples to see how the problems are solved. I think one can understand a problem and its solution once they see how problems have a certain methods of approach. I like to show how problems can be solved by showing the student multiple approaches to each particular topic. I think it is also helpful that the student solves the problems while the tutor directs the student, however I do pay close attention to each student's individual needs and learning methods. I believe I can do an excellent job in helping students solve math and science problems.
